Very impressed with your website. I taught at Halwin School for 21 years and my class kept weather records, now lost I expect. I live in Coverack and based on an empty bucket I had out in the open on 18th July I had 170mm during the afternoon. This allows for the shape of the bucket. My rain gauge was broken by the hailstones.

Hi I have been viewing your web site now for 10 years and find it very interesting.can you tell me why we are getting so much rain and thunderstors? Last Wed-Thur we had 35c and now it is 17c in the day time and 13c at night. Do you have any idea when the weather here will return to normal? Could you not give some idea of the weather forcast in europe? just for ex pats it would be good for those not fluent in Spanish. Best wishes to you all Terry.

Hi, great website with lots of useful weather data - the webcam is nice as well. Went through the area on our way to the Stithians show on Monday. I am a weather forecaster (usually based in Vienna, Austria but a Cornwall fan) myself and I find it always useful to see the local area where a weather station is located.
I have bookmarked your site!

Great site, I like to cycle a lot when I can, and use your site as its far more accurate and pertinent to our area.

Take today 1/4/14 according to the Met office I should be basking in sunshine, instead, as you have stated we are in a thick mist.

Hi, I use your weather site very frequently. It is excellent. A friend in Truro is BLOCKED from accessing it by the Fujitsu anti virus program provided by his Post Office Internet service provider (I use Microsoft Security essentials) In Google search, it shows your site blocked as unsafe together with another weather site which references your site. I do not understand this, but I thought you should know about it. I have a screenshot of his Google search page, where it shows the blocked search results, and will send this to you if it helps you. I hope you can resolve it. If you want me to email the screenshot attachment to you, just ask. Best wishes, Bill

Hello, Nice site.Just started taking
readings so I am a real "newbie".
Found you via the Cummulus website.
About to download and install to see the
difference to Easyweather. Not too far
from your site but quite a bit lower at 68 meters and 3/4 mile diagonal to
Lizard Point. I will bookmark your site
for inspiration !

The Met people are saying better weather to come because the jet stream has moved north, but I see from your page that the jet stream is located over the south of England ????

Many thanks for your superb website - what a mine of information it is - only just found it whilst googling for info onthe current jet stream location - getting panicky about the silage and hoping for a break in the weather.

Best regards.

At last a weather site that shows the position of the Jet Stream!!! Great !!!The Met Office weather site ignores it, as does the BBC weather website. This seems a serious omission, given that the Jet Stream is the most significant feature determining UK weather.
Carnkie Weather is a great site, the UK pressure charts and visible satellite being particularly good. Many thanks to all concerned. John.

Hello,
Thanks for the web site, one of the most impressive Cumulus sites on line.

I am awaiting delivery of a similar station from the UK so hope to be on line soon.
At present I am struggling with the webcam as I am using an ITX pc to do Wx and webcam but the drivers I have for my webcam use nearly all the processing power.

The plan is for the PC to live in the Stevenson's screen with just power and ethernet running back to the house.
I would appreciate info on your software as I just want to grab shots which should less PC intensive.

Current software seems to process video all the rime and extract shots rather than just taking snapshots.

My thanks again for the site,

Regards,

Keith Huggett.
Reply from Admin:
Hi Keith,
The software I use to get the webcam images is called Active Webcam, it is payware but is a good program.

It too runs a preview and takes snapshots from this which are stored on the computer, from this I created my own php script to upload the files at every 15 minute intervals.

The preview frame rate can be decreased so this may reduce the load on the computer.

Active Webcam is available from here: http://www.pysoft.com/ActiveWebCamMainpage.htm

Thanks,
Mark
