Hello, Nice site.Just started taking
readings so I am a real "newbie".
Found you via the Cummulus website.
About to download and install to see the
difference to Easyweather. Not too far
from your site but quite a bit lower at 68 meters and 3/4 mile diagonal to
Lizard Point. I will bookmark your site
for inspiration !

The Met people are saying better weather to come because the jet stream has moved north, but I see from your page that the jet stream is located over the south of England ????

Many thanks for your superb website - what a mine of information it is - only just found it whilst googling for info onthe current jet stream location - getting panicky about the silage and hoping for a break in the weather.

Best regards.

At last a weather site that shows the position of the Jet Stream!!! Great !!!The Met Office weather site ignores it, as does the BBC weather website. This seems a serious omission, given that the Jet Stream is the most significant feature determining UK weather.
Carnkie Weather is a great site, the UK pressure charts and visible satellite being particularly good. Many thanks to all concerned. John.

I was talking to Paul Richards about the weather and we also talked about unusal observations in the sky. I believe you had a video of a recent unidentified incident was on youtube. Any chance of your putting the observation on to youtube again? Are you Nigel who worked at Allen and Heath Penryn?

Hello,
Thanks for the web site, one of the most impressive Cumulus sites on line.

I am awaiting delivery of a similar station from the UK so hope to be on line soon.
At present I am struggling with the webcam as I am using an ITX pc to do Wx and webcam but the drivers I have for my webcam use nearly all the processing power.

The plan is for the PC to live in the Stevenson's screen with just power and ethernet running back to the house.
I would appreciate info on your software as I just want to grab shots which should less PC intensive.

Current software seems to process video all the rime and extract shots rather than just taking snapshots.

My thanks again for the site,

Regards,

Keith Huggett.

Hi Keith,
The software I use to get the webcam images is called Active Webcam, it is payware but is a good program.

It too runs a preview and takes snapshots from this which are stored on the computer, from this I created my own php script to upload the files at every 15 minute intervals.

The preview frame rate can be decreased so this may reduce the load on the computer.

Active Webcam is available from here: http://www.pysoft.com/ActiveWebCamMainpage.htm

Thanks,
Mark
