Summary:

August had low pressure, quite alot of cloud, average temperatures and above average rainfall.

Temperature
Temperatures for August were about average, with the mean maximum being just 0.8C above average, and the mean minimum was 0.8C below average, which meant that the overall mean for the month was on average. The maximum temperature was 25.3C on the 13th and the minimum was 8.3C on the 30th.

Humidity
High humidity readings were also recorded during August, with almost every day with readings in the 90s, and quite a few days where fog formed.

Pressure
Pressure was mainly low during the month. Which produced alot of cloud and rain. However high pressure did eventually move in during the last week of the August settling the weather down, and clearing skies.

Wind
The maximum gust was 32.0 mph on the 24th. The dominant direction for wind was from the South West (18 Days).

Rainfall
August was the wettest month of the year so far, with a total of 101.1mm which is 138.8% of average for the month. This was the most significant amount of rain for months and is the first month with above average rainfall since March. Over half of the months rain fell on just one day on the 25th when a total of 60.6mm fell, and over 20mm fell in just one hour, with a new rain rate record of 71.8 mm/hr. On the rain radar pinks and red were shown over the Wendron area for a couple of hours in the morning. Rain fell on a total of 17 days.
