November bought above average rainfall, below average temperatures, deep areas of low pressure, strong gusts of wind, snowfall and even some thunder and lightning.

Temperatures for November started off relatively mild, but by the end of the month they were reaching just a few degrees above freezing.
From the 5th onwards the minimum temperatures for each day were below 10°C. The cold spell set in from the 21st onwards, with daily max's reaching less than 10°C and during the final four days they were below 4°C. Meanwhile Daily min's from the 21st were struggling to get above 3°C. The final four days air frosts were recorded.

Final averages for November were all below average, the Mean Max was 9.47°C (1.7°C below average), whilst the Mean Min was 4.44°C (2°C below average), and the mean average for min's and max's was 6.95°C (1.9°C below average).

The month was dominated by low pressure systems bringing plenty of wind and precipitation. The month started with two extremely deep low pressure systems which moved across the UK.
The lowest recorded pressure reading was 962.0mb which was recorded on the 8th, when the first deep area of low pressure was sat right above Cornwall, below moving southwards.

The month was also very windy, especially during the areas of deep low pressure. The maximum gust was 48.0 mph recorded on the 8th. Which broke the previous record of 45.0 mph recorded in March. On the 11th a record high wind run of 480.8 Miles were recorded in 24 hours. Many other wind run totals were above 200, with one above 300.

There was plenty of rain in November. A total of 139.8mm were recorded over 28 days, which is 115.4% of average, making November the wettest month of the year so far. It rained for 20 consecutive days, which so far is the longest period of wet days this year.

November bought the first lot of snow to the country for the season. In fact it was the earliest widespread snowfall since 1993. The last snowfall in Carnkie was in January where 8.5 cm were measured on three separate days.

In November a total of 11.0cm were measured, which fell on two separate days. The second lot caused travel chaos on the roads in the Monday morning rush hour.
